English edition. Hushbird 2018.
Eva lives in a magical garden filled with strange flowers, curious trees, and the weirdest birds you will ever encounter. She could not imagine a more perfect place to call home. But one day she glimpses something blue, green and grey lurking in the shadows. What is it — and, more importantly… what does it want?
Greylegs was Dina’s second book, published in July 2018. It was also published in Norwegian in the collection Vill (Wild), which is available in the store.

This is the original edition. It differs from all later versions in its ornamental, almost archaically illustrated opening sequence. Dina was fascinated by the introduction in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, and wanted to create something similar to accompany the legend told by the old Snowcat King to his son.
The story follows the young Snowcat prince Syv on his journey across the Blue Plains to recover the magical crown seized by the Sandfoxes thousands of years ago. The land of the Snowcats has fallen into hardship and decline after the death of the old king. Syv’s malicious older brothers, eager to rid themselves of their inconveniently popular sibling, send him alone on this dangerous quest.
What follows is a grand adventure — a long journey that will grant Syv both self-knowledge and courage.

Dina created a new opening sequence for the Norwegian edition. The editors felt that the original ornamental storytelling style of the English first edition might be too complex for younger readers. Dina agreed, and instead produced a series of striking illustrations in the same visual language as the rest of the book. The format was also reduced, from the original 30 × 22 cm to 16.5 × 24 cm. This was done to position the publication more clearly as a “book” rather than a “graphic novel”, and thereby secure better placement in bookshops.

The American publisher requested a new cover design “with everything included”. Dina approached the task with enthusiasm and created what she herself described as a “maximalist design”. The text remains largely unchanged from the original edition, with only minor revisions.
The book was released simultaneously in hardback and paperback.
Back cover text:
Syv is a Snowcat, and the youngest of a family of princes. When his father dies, Syv and his brothers all stand in line for the throne. Eager to become kings themselves, and wary of how well liked Syv has become among the citizens, his brothers send him on a dangerous quest to find the long-lost magical crown that once belonged to their royal ancestor, the Eldking.
Legend says that the Snowcat who finds the crown will break the curse on their land and bring great honour to their family. But failure would mark Syv with three black stripes — and he would be banished forever.
Along the way, Syv faces dangerous beasts, dark forces, and the ever-lurking Sandfoxes — sworn enemies of the Snowcats. But when he discovers the truth behind the legend of the Eldking and his crown, he must learn a new meaning of honour, and find another way to break the curse.
